Secretary General’s Report 2006-2007
SUMMARY
Welcome to the 6th Annual General Meeting
With each passing year, the FORUM’s credibility is increasing and its activities growing. The year 2007 was indeed a power packed year for us. During the period we had following major events:

In addition we had 8 meetings of the MANCH in which eminent experts shared their views. These included Mr. Shyam Wadhera, Director, PFC; Mr. S. Narayan, Former Advisor to the Prime Minister; Mr. Anil Sardana, Director, Tata Power; Mr. Lalit Jalan, Chairman, BSES; Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency; Mr. G.C. Mrig, Mg. Director, Aryan Coal and Mr. Ajay Poddar, MD, Synergy Environics Ltd.
India Energy Year Book
New Revised Edition of the INDIA ENERGY YEAR BOOK was released on 12th September, 2006 by Hon’ble Minister of Power Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde.
Total Energy
Our Bimonthly publication TOTAL ENERGY has become popular and we published 6 issues in the year. This was also registered with the Registrar of Newspaper.
Support to the other Energy Events
We also supported energy events organized by CII, FICCI, Indian Chamber, Kolkata and INFOMEDIA.
Research
Our new great initiative this year was to commission a Study on “Demand & Supply of Power” in 9 states of Northern and Western India upto 2017. We are grateful to Mr. C.P. Jain for this initiative.
Details of all the initiatives / activities are given in the Annual General Report and I have great satisfaction in presenting this report to you.
Before I close, I must say that, I had tremendous support from the Board Members especially Mr. P.S. Bami, Mr. S.C. Tripathi, Mr. T.N.R. Rao, Mr. R.P. Singh, Mr. B.C. Bora, Mr. C.P. Jain, Mr. R.V. Shahi, Mr. N.N. Gautam, Mr. R.M. Sodhi, Mr. Y.R. Mehta and Mr. B. Bhambhani in Delhi and Mr. Asok Dasgupta in Kolkata. I have no hesitation in saying that much of the success is due to their guidance and help. I would also like to thank Mr. S.S. Rawat and his office team for their support.
