Introduction

Objective

The Goal of the Conference is to have in-depth deliberation on the challenges and opportunities presented by India’s initiative on the Climate Change and delineate the way forward. Two pillars of the National Action Plan on Climate Change are Development of Renewable Energy, especially Solar and Energy Efficiency.To sustain India's growth it is imperative to develop all viably available energy sources. We must draw out a systematic medium/long term Technology Map for green energy sources and also ensure that we use available energy in most efficient manner for all our requirements including commercial,domestic, housing and transportation.

Energy Efficiency provides a powerful and cost-effective mechanism to achieve a sustainable energy future. Improvements in energy efficiency can reduce the need for investment in energy infrastructure, cut fuel costs, increase competitiveness and improve consumer welfare. Environmental benefits can also be achieved by the reduction of greenhouse gases emissions.Energy security can also benefit from improved energy efficiency by decreasing the reliance on imported fossil fuels
